Ukraine's power facilities have come under escalating strikes in the past few days

During the night, Russian missile and drone strikes have led to power cuts in extensive areas of the capital city, Kyiv.

Moscow has intensified strikes on power infrastructure over the past few days, while Ukrainian leadership has requested "substantial measures" from international partners to increase pressure on Russia.

"What is required is not superficial actions but decisive action - from the America, Europe and the Group of Seven - in supplying defensive weapons and applying sanctions," he wrote in a social media post.

Officials stated that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and more than 30 rockets targeted energy facilities, describing such strikes as "premeditated" and against "everything that sustains normal life" as temperatures become colder.

A series of attacks struck power facilities and civilian homes in the capital.
